Year of the Rat

I've finished the latest Geisha/Year of the Rat artwork.
Since the rat in the Japanese popular culture has connotations with shadows and stealth. I thought of giving her a ninja theme. A beautiful assassin who moonlights as a courtesan.

You can't see because of the Chinese style hat, but the rat in the painting is climbing or pulling on a huge gold coin.
That's because in Chinese culture, the Rat is very good with money and very clever with her resources whatever they may be.

I think i'll be taking a break from the Chinese Calender/Geisha's and work on something else that I've been wanting to work on for some time now. We'll see....
